How Do I Become A Volunteer?
Hospice volunteers receive training and on-going education to assist with the specialized support they offer to patients, family members and caregivers.
General hospice education covers:
- Philosophy of hospice care and services offered
- Physical, emotional, social and spiritual issues encountered
- Effective communication, comfort care and the dying process
- Information about grief and loss
In order to become a volunteer, the following should be acceptable:
- Able to commit to the recommended training and application process
- Able to provide own transportation
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Do not have a criminal record
- TB test must be negative
